The year so far saw $675M invested across 62 rounds. While both these figures dimmed in comparison to 2016, the avg ticket size per round went up by 25% from 2016. Average ticket sizes for $1.6M (Seed stage), $5.3M (Series A), and $16.3M (Series B)
Notable investments in the last year include Sigfox ($160M, Series E), Actility ($75M, Series D), and C3 IoT ($70M, Series D). With 11 investments, Intel Capital is the most active investor in the sector, followed by Cisco Investments (11), and Momenta Partners (11).
Within the IoT-Infrastructure sector, startups in IoT Platforms spce have historically bagged the highest investment ($2.4B), followed by companies in Hardware and Software Modules ($1.4B)
