After our last compilation of Infographics on Hottest Technology Sectors of 2016 (Global, Europe, India, and Health), we’ve put together 2016’s 100 most exciting investment themes which got the attention of VCs globally.

Behind the scenes

While it is relatively easier to deduce that Fintech or Artificial Intelligence are lucrative sectors – identifying interesting investment themes within to provide actionable insights to the investor community – takes judicious research on a large amount of data. This compilation is one such exercise.

To put this together, we analyzed 230+ sectors and 20,000+ unique business models tagged on our platform with all their funding details, investors, and companies involved for 2016. We then applied a multi-step algorithm to identify the 100 most promising business models of 2016 across various sectors.
